Google launches job search in India


After launching Google for Jobs last year in the US, the search giant has brought the feature to India on Tuesday. According to the company, jobseekers will now be able to directly search for jobs across over a dozen partners through the Google search bar making the process less cumbersome and making jobs more discoverable.Some of the partners include, IBM Talent Management Solutions, LinkedIn, Quezx, QuikrJobs, Shine.com, T-Jobs, TimesJobs, and Wisdomjobs along with Aasaanjobs, Freshersworld, Headhonchos.Rajan Anandan, Vice President India & Southeast Asia, said in the last quarter of 2017, Google saw more than a 45% increase in the number of job search queries. “SMEs are the largest job creators but are often unable to make their listings discoverable. “We are entering a new age of disruption, it will be an era of speed and transparency,” he said.Google is also in talks with the largest job portal in India Naukri.com to be a partner in this initiative, said Anandan. The company is also making special efforts to get more governments, especially state governments to post jobs online, added Achint Srivastava, from the Google Search Engineering team.
