Google celebrates International Women's Day today with a doodle slideshow of 13 most heroic women. International Women's Day is observed on March 8 every year across the world. The slideshow doodle shows a grandmother telling a bedtime story of heroic women to a little girl. "In 1911, the first official International Women's Day rallies were held in Austria, Denmark, Germany, and Switzerland. In 1977, the UN adopted March 8 as the International Women's Day and since then the day is celebrated across the globe.
