NEW DELHI: Google India has dedicated its doodle today to the great writer Munshi Premchand , marking his 136th birth anniversary. On what would have been his 136th birthday, the illustration pays tribute to the multitude of important stories he told," adds Google. "Today's homepage celebrates a man who filled many pages (of a different kind) with words that would forever change India's literary landscape," says Google on its website.The doodle is inspired from his last famous novel, 'Godaan' (1936). Born Dhanpat Rai, in a small village in northern India, the renowned author penned more than a dozen novels, 250 short stories and a number of essays.
