GOOGLE Philippines held a free webinar to share insights, tips and digital strategies that benefit micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs) and those who are thinking of starting their own small business. The session titled “MSME Caravan: Digitalizing and Supporting Local Businesses” was livestreamed on October 22 from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m. through the Google Philippines (PH) YouTube channel and Facebook page. The virtual event featured entrepreneurs such as Reese Fernandez-Ruiz of Rags2Riches and Chelsea Quiambao of Le Fleur Cafe to talk about building an entrepreneurial mindset. They were joined by content creator Madam Ely, who talked about the opportunities on YouTube for MSMEs, and Google leaders, who discussed how to kickstart a business and build an effective online presence through Google My Business. MSMEs generated 40 percent of the country’s gross domestic product in previous years, and this number has declined by 16.5 percent due to the pandemic.
