Students across the country will now learn how to become responsible digital citizens, besides getting lessons on cyber-bullying and crimes as Google joins hands with the National Council of Educational Research (NCERT) to devise a new curriculum on these lines. They will also learn through structured classroom modules about the social, ethical and legal aspects of internet safety. For example, in lower classes, students will focus on engaging with technology and learning the use of basic digital tools. In middle classes, students will be introduced to basics of the internet, concepts of account safety and distinguishing good content from bad," Mohanty further said. As part of its pilot, the internet giant engaged 600 mothers in cities like Delhi and Hyderabad to teach internet safety.
