(Credit: Google)Google is famous in the tech industry for the effectiveness of its reliability engineers who keep its search and other products running smoothly. Now in a first of its kind move, Google is making those some engineers available to its cloud customers. Cloud customers have typically paid for support commensurate to how much they're using a service. Google's tweaks to its CRE support for cloud customers point to the company's broader effort to differentiate its cloud platform from rivals such as such as Amazon Web Services and Microsoft Azure. Pivotal's own cloud platform, Pivotal Cloud Foundry, spends a lot of time on site reliability.
