In quick succession, official data on three key economic indicators have been released, and reveal that growing public perception the economy is worsening is misplaced. That is good news, and certainly worth highlighting. That is a clear sign that the better inflation result in April was not just a one-time respite and that price increases are definitely slowing. The favorable indicators do not in any sense provide laurels for economic policymakers to rest on. This augurs well for the Philippines, and should encourage the government to stay the course and sustain its efforts to carry out its economic programs.
