The organisation focuses on the health of women and children living with HIV, and child mortality. ​The First Lady has been on the forefront working tirelessly to promote maternal, new born and child health in the country as well as spearheading efforts to address HIV prevalence by creating awareness. The OAFLA creates a spirit of solidarity and enhances exchange of ideas among the First Ladies. This in turn increases their capacity and that of other women leaders in advocating for better solutions toward eradicating stigma and discrimination of those infected and affected by HIV and Aids.
