A high school basketball coach who tried to be a Good Samaritan when he spotted a student being bullied wound up allegedly being assaulted by four of his own players. One of the team’s coaches noticed his players picking on another student and attempted to intervene. “Our detectives are investigating this incident to identify and to appropriately charge those individuals involved,” Public Safety Director Anthony Ambrose told ABC7. “Because high school students are typically juveniles, the names of the suspects will not be released. “The actions of these students will not be tolerated, and they don’t represent the majority of the school,” Newark mayor Ras Baraka told ABC7.
