Chairwoman of the national cross-country championships local organising committee Margaret Knox at the Chisholm Links course this week, ahead of tomorrow’s Otago Championships. The golf course will play host to its first cross-country, three weeks before a much bigger one. The Otago championships will act as a trial run for the national championships, to be held at the same venue on August 29. He had wanted to have it on the golf links for several years and used his contacts at the golf club to make it happen. Balchin, who won silver at last year’s national championships, is also back to add class to the field.
