Some of the assailants too had financial disputes with him and they hatched the plan to settle it all by murdering Phuge, police said. According to the police, the assailants tricked Phuge by calling him for a birthday party in Dighi area, where they laid a trap to murder him. Also, a proposal to extern Phuge was put up following complaints of financial disputes through his chit fund and goondaism against him. Police said Phuge had dispute over financial matters with several of his investors, after he allegedly failed to return their investments.
