Customs officials have seized 4.64kg of smuggled gold from a flight of US Bangla Airlines at the Dhaka airport. The customs preventive team searched flight BS308 from Singapre after being tipped off. Preventive Team’s Assistant Commissioner Saidul Islam said they found a bag, containing the gold bars, was found glued to a seat during rummaging. Forty gold bars were found wrapped in scotch tape. The recovered gold has an estimated market value of Tk2.32 crore, Saidul Islam said.
