Chaiwat Wangwisit, the owner of Yak Mee Tang gold shop on Kosi road opposite Wat Nakhon Sawan temple, said that about 4.30pm a skinny middle-aged man, wearing a grey jacket and orange pants, walked into the shop and asked to see two 10-baht gold necklaces. The gold snatcher was then caught by members of a lion-dance troupe who were preparing for a performance. Mr Preecha said he fled with the gold because, as a farmer, he and his family had been hard hit by the continuing drought.
