A September 2016 auction in the United Arab Emirates has seen 50% lower tariff than the recent record low solar tariff in India. Cement prices up Rs6/bag month-on-month in FebruaryAll-India cement prices have improved by Rs6/bag on a month-on-month basis to Rs321/bag, said a Kotak Institutional Equities report dated 17 February. Cement prices had fallen due to demonetization. Strength in cement prices was more visible in the north where prices rose by Rs14/bag month-on-month, followed by central India (up Rs10/bag) and west (up Rs9/bag), while east (Rs4/bag) lagged and prices remained unchanged in the south. Kotak expects all-India cement prices to settle at Rs319/bag in Q4FY17, down Rs7/bag on a sequential basis but up Rs15/bag year-on-year.
