Gold medals for Coetzee brothers in memorial raceSupplied Kurt and Trevor Coetzee, pleased with their gold medals for the Fred Ogle Memorial Race. Teenage sportsman Kurt Coetzee has returned to competition in fine form taking out the Fred Ogle Memorial Race in the under 19 section and placing sixth overall. The 110km Memorial Race held on November 12 was Kurt's first competition since the accident and he finished in a time of 3:03:19. The annual race is held to remember the lives of two Whangarei cyclists - Fred Ogle and Lynley MacDonald - who were tragically killed while riding in the Whangarei region in 2008. Kurt's brother Trevor Coetzee, 12, was not only first in the under 15 section in the same race, but also won the 25km race overall against an open field.
