The Sydneysider claimed the Ballinger Belt, New Zealand's oldest sporting trophy, at the New Zealand champs at the weekend. John Snowden from Ashburton is the leading New Zealander in the individual competition, in seventh place, giving him a good chance to make medal ranks in stage 2 over the next few days. The Kiwi under-21 side won the gold medal in their age group teams event.
