Assistant Commissioner of the Customs House Uttam Chakma confirmed the matter to Dhaka Tribune on Monday. He said: “The theft was pre-planned, Criminal Investigation Department (CID) has been already informed to probe the matter.”“Detail list of stolen things can be announced after a primary investigation is done,” he added. According to Customs sources, the theft took place at the house’s old building, where the thieves cut the CCTV wire before the heist. The vault housed valuable items, which were recovered by intelligence officials, BGB, and police during various operations.
