When the building caught fire, she called her husband Kazi Saad Nur. She had called her father too, crying and pleading for rescue in vain. Sometime after midnight, the phone was picked up by a fireman, who said the owner of the phone had suffocated to death. Her husband and father buried her Friday afternoon in Jessore’s Karbala graveyard.
