Staff reporterTuen Mun Hospital has introduced a new training device that looks like a goal post to help patients move around and recover leg mobility so they can walk better. The hospital, the first to buy such a device in Hong Kong, has used it on about 110 patients suffering from conditions like strokes and neurological disorders. Hospital staff said the patients' walking speeds and endurance has recovered faster than usual, with fewer people needing help during their rehabilitation. The device is designed with a safety harness which can support a patient's weight and protect him or her from falling. "Patients used to find such training very strenuous - as did we therapists."
