Dela Rosa came slightly ahead with 91.3 percent of the votes. Go and Dela Rosa are both administration candidates running under the ruling Partido Demokratiko Pilipino. Other candidates who made it to the “Magic 12” include PDP-Laban guest candidates Sen. Cynthia Villar (6th place), Sen. Edgardo “Sonny Angara” (7th), Pia Cayetano (9th), Imee Marcos (10th) and Freddie Aguilar (12th). Independent candidate Sen. Mary Grace Poe was in 8th place, while Sen. Nancy Binay (NUP) came in at 11th place.
