Globe Telecom Inc. seeks to expand its Fifth Generation (5G) network coverage in Metro Manila to 80 percent by the end of the year, according to a company official. In a statement on Wednesday, the Ayala-led telecommunications company said it had been ramping up its 5G deployment to reach more areas in the country’s capital. “We have a very active 5G development in Metro Manila and we hope to cover 80 percent of that soon. The statement comes after Globe — which introduced 5G services to its home subscribers in July 2019 —made its 5G mobile service commercially available to key areas in the National Capital Region (NCR). The telco is also expanding its 5G reach to the Visayas and Mindanao, according to Genio.
