Global start-ups to present business models at World Energy CongressCreated: Monday, 01 April 2019 06:03The ‘Start Up Energy Transition’ (SET) initiative has nominated top 100 list (#SET100) of international start-ups of the energy transitionThe #SET100 companies will present themselves at the 24th World Energy Congress, the flagship triennial event of the World Energy Council, taking place Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Centre (ADNEC) from 9-12 September 2019. The 100 cleantech start-ups have applied for this year's SET award, an international award for innovative business models in the areas of energy transition and climate protection. The SET award is presented by the German Energy Agency (dena), in cooperation with the World Energy Council. Most of the companies are active in the competitive categories of low-carbon energy production, energy efficiency and smart devices and storage. Christoph Frei, secretary general of the World Energy Council, commented, “Partnering with dena, we work together to systematically identify the most promising innovation ventures around the world and work with leading innovators to understand scope, time frame and success factors of major innovation areas.”The 24th World Energy Congress is one of the leading, longest-running and most influential energy gatherings across the world.
