PETALING JAYA: Several prominent global billionaires and medical professionals have formed a humanitarian organisation to help combat the new coronavirus and contain its spread. This group, named the Global Partnership Against Coronavirus Alliance (GPACA), has been endorsed by Malaysia’s king, Yang di-Pertuan Agong Al-Sultan Abdullah Ri’ayatuddin Al-Mustafa Billah Shah. GPACA's founding board members include Dr Wu, president of Suponic Group Jay Park, Al Gurhair of the Essa Al Ghurair (UAE) and Dr Vincenzo Costigliola, president of European Medical Association. “GPACA's primary objective is to alleviate the worldwide suffering brought by the new coronavirus outbreak,” said the statement. The statement added GPACA will assist partners to expedite government and hospital bureaucratic protocols to ensure the swift delivery of treatment, including vaccines.
