TOKYO — Global shares were mixed in directionless trading Monday as the number of coronavirus cases soared in the U.S. and investors cautiously eyed the summit of European leaders discussing the pandemic crisis. France's CAC 40 shed 0.5% in early trading to 5,043.73. Germany's DAX was little changed at 12,906.87, down less than 0.1%. U.S. shares were set to drift lower with Dow futures down 0.1% at 26,486.5. “But with increasing dangers of political missteps and policy fumbles, the question is whether things could start to come undone in a more alarming manner,” said Narita.
