Catherine joined The Times in 2017, coming from The Toronto Star. She started there as an intern, and worked her way up to general assignment reporter, city hall reporter, environment reporter, feature writer and finally columnist. In 2010, Catherine was sent to Haiti by the Toronto Star to cover the devastating earthquake. After joining The Times, Catherine worked on a number of deep dives, including two powerful pieces for our The End series, a series that examined how we die and what it tells us about how we live. Catherine, a Toronto native, will move to Paris with her family.
