Sen. John McCain (R-Ariz.) died Saturday at age 81, one day after his family announced he had decided to discontinue treatment for his brain cancer. But medical experts and health advocates say they are also grateful for what McCain has done to raise the profile of glioblastomas ― extremely rare, cancerous brain tumors that fewer than 13,000 Americans will be diagnosed with every year.
