Glencore to scrap secondary Hong Kong listing

A lack of investor interest will prompt Glencore to cancel its listing in Hong Kong Arnd Wiegmann/ReutersGlencore is planning to cancel its secondary listing in Hong Kong and focus on investors in London and Johannesburg. The mining and trading group is set to announce that it will cancel its Hong Kong shares, citing a lack of interest. It is understood that funds are more interested in holding the London shares, which are interchangeable. The Hong Kong listing dates back to its 2011 flotation and was designed to facilitate Zijin Mining as a cornerstone investor. Meanwhile Glencore has cut its output forecast for core commodities including zinc but raised its marketing division’s full-year earnings guidance significantly.
