Liverpool completed the signing of the 25-year-old winger from Porto in January for an initial £37m. But former defender Johnson believes if he can hit the ground running on Merseyside he’ll be given a fair chance by Klopp. The duo are both under contract until 2023 but Johnson feels Diaz would have been signed regardless of their situation. ‘I think the competition is healthy, Mo is probably the number one player on the team-sheet and rightly so.
