Picture: Jim CoughlanGlanmire's road network set for a complete overhaul through 16 projectsPROPOSALS for several road improvements in the Glanmire Road area, including a new greenway and pedestrian bridge, have been announced by Cork County Council. The works by Cork County Council will involve upgrades in the townlands of Dunkettle, Glanmire, Ballinglanna, Poulacurry South, Poulacurry North, Ballincrossig, Riverstown and Lota More. The right-hand turn at the Dunkettle slip road will be removed and a raised carriageway will be introduced to reduce speeds at the Glanmire Bridge. The East Cliff Road pinch point will also be addressed by a realignment of the road and a widening of the footpath. The improvements are being proposed following reports carried out by MHL & Associates Ltd Consulting Engineers for Cork County Council and Systra/Jacobs for the National Transport Authority.
