The record course holder was not received by many at the Eldoret International Airport – a low key reception considering she had just completed a hat-trick of Berlin Marathon wins. She also expressed her delight in smashing the course record, saying she had belief in the training she had back home. “My target was to try and better my personal best, I was happy to also break the course record. Cherono beat Ethiopian duo Aga Ruti and Tirunesh Dibaba to win the 2018 Berlin Marathon [Courtesy]Cherono, who also won the Berlin Marathon in 2014, beat Ethiopian duo Tirunesh Dibaba and Aga Ruti to clinch her third ever Berlin Marathon win.
