Kakamega Governor Fernandes Barasa has warned the investor reviving the troubled Mumias Sugar Company against hiring workers from Uganda. Barasa said the investor, Uganda-based Sarai Group, should give jobs to the locals. “We don’t want the investor to bring in people from Uganda to work at Mumias Sugar Company. Barasa said the county leadership will support the investor by ensuring farmers plant enough cane to sustain the company's operations. The governor was speaking when he condoled with the family of Saina Orata in Mwitoti village, Mumias East subcounty.
