They were both very good employees - smart, hard working and professional. The respect disconnect. Their desire for respect was by no means unusual, and so, unfortunately, was the fact their needs were unmet. Whereas managers who didn't respect their employees tended to face more headwinds. But when management makes high demands without respect accompanying them, that's a recipe for problems.
