The girl sent the images and videos to a friend who reported the abuse to the police. Crown prosecutor Sean Mallett said the girl had an intellectual disability and was functioning well below her peers. It was through this abuse of power that the defendant was able to exert control over the victim,” Mallett said. When spoken to by the police, the man readily admitted several of the offences and showed little remorse for his actions, Mallett said.
