A Plus Two student jumped into sea near Cherthala here on Wednesday. She took the extreme step reportedly upset over scoring low marks in a subject in the higher secondary examination. The police said that they had launched a search mission to find the 17-year-old missing girl, a native of Mayithara in the district. “The girl along with one of her friends reached breakwater at Aayiramthai. Although the friend tried to stop her, she jumped into sea,” said an official.
