LANGKAWI: A girl drowned while three others are still missing after they were swept by strong currents at a waterfall in Kampung Buku Lubuk Semilang this afternoon. The girls, all aged 11, were believed to be swimming at the waterfall when the incident occurred about 5pm. It was also learnt that during the incident, three other children were also swept by the strong currents but they were rescued by members of the public. The state Fire and Rescue Department public relations officer Mohamad Mustakim Mukhtar said the department received report on the incident at 5pm. “The body of one of the girls was found by the rescue team while search for the three others is still ongoing,” he said in a statement.
