A girl, who was traumatised after being molested, committed suicide in a village in Mainpuri district. The police registered a case under Section 306 (Abettment to suicide) against the named accused who had entered the girl’s house to molest her. But later, during post mortem examination, the family members alleged rape and so the police also got a slide preserved for investigation. The girl cried for help and neighbourers gathered on the spot, following which the accused fled, threatening the family of dire consequences. “The accused have been booked under Section 306 of Indian Penal Code (IPC) and further investigations are on according to added charges of family members.
