Mining magnate Gina Rinehart has gifted a portrait of herself to the National Portrait Gallery, but there appear to be strings attached. Senate estimates heard the gallery was processing a deed of gift made by Australia's richest woman. The gallery's director, Bree Pickering, told the hearing: 'There were some conditions that came along with that gift that meant those conditions are currently under negotiation.' The gallery's director declined to detail what the conditions are but indicated they are to do with the way the work would be displayed
