The Philippines, already assured of a quarterfinal berth after winning over Tonga earlier in the day, will head to the next round of the Asia Cup with a 1-1 win-loss record. Gilas started off with a 2-pointer, as Kacey dela Rosa connected from deep in the first seconds of the game. But Australia pounded the rock inside, getting layup after layup while the Filipina dribblers focused on their perimeter plays. The Aussies then unleashed a backbreaking 11-2 run capped by a layup by Lara McSpadden to go up by 10, 18-8.
