While it took a tense defensive stand in the final minutes, the Giants held on to defeat the Eagles, 28-23, at MetLife Stadium. The Giants never trailed, but a late Manning interception nearly allowed the Eagles (4-4) to rally for what would have been a stunning comeback. The drive stalled but Sturgis converted a 38-yeard field goal attempt with 3 minutes 51 seconds remaining to cut the Giants lead to 28-23. The Giants took over at their 12-yard line and immediately picked up a first down on successive runs by the rookie running back Paul Perkins. Philadelphia cut the Giants lead to 14-10 but the Giants answered quickly with a 6-play, 86-yard drive that ended with a 1-yard alley-oop touchdown pass from Manning to Beckham.
