Baer, like any employee or management personnel in MLB, is subject to an internal domestic violence program instituted within the sport several years ago. That program is different than the ones affecting Major League and minor league players. MLB has a zero-tolerance policy for domestic violence on all levels of the business. As far as the players are concerned, MLB and the MLB Players Association negotiated an agreement in 2015 and since then 11 players have been investigated for domestic violence. But under the policy, all players are required to undergo domestic violence training every year during spring training.
