The last giant squid to wash ashore in South Africa measured roughly 11.5 feet. That’s still nowhere close to the largest giant squid ever seen that reportedly measured a whopping 43 feet long. Giant squid are the largest invertebrates on the planet and have been found in all of the world’s oceans. Along with their cousin, the Colossal Squid, giant squid have the biggest eyes in the animal kingdom.
