Production at the Ghorashal-Polash fertiliser plant in Narsingdi has resumed after being suspended for over a month due to a severe natural gas shortage. “Production was halted on Mar 4 following government directives to cut off the gas supply,” he said. The factory, which is entirely dependent on natural gas for its operations, has a daily production capacity of 2,800 tonnes. Despite the prolonged closure, the factory authorities noted that a substantial stock remains available to meet immediate agricultural needs. As of Apr 1, the facility had a total reserve of 28,948 tonnes of urea fertiliser.
