With the Red and White lads leading 1-0 at half time courtesy Gaston Pereiro's 8th minute wonder strike, coach Mark Van Bommel called on Gakpo from the bench at the start of the second half. Gakpo registered his name on the scoresheet two minutes later. Further two late strikes from De Jong handed the Philip Stadion outfit a 5-0 win. The win helped PSV maintain their 5-point lead over second placed side Ajax Amsterdam after matchday 20.
