He said engineering has been and continues to be the backbone for development and progress of any country. He emphasised the need for a proper regulatory framework for engineering practice since no nation can develop without a strong indigenous engineering sector. A robust and functioning infrastructural network is of utmost importance to sustain and foster positive economic developments," he said. Other speakers at the symposium included Dr David Dodoo-Arhin, University of Ghana; Dr Moses Kiliswa, University of Kwazulu Natal South Africa; Dr Efe Ikponmwosa, University of Lagos, Nigeria.
