Lithium-rich Ghana is forging ahead with plans to grow its electric vehicle (EV) sector. British High Commissioner to Ghana Harriet Thompson confirmed recently that the two countries would be looking at cooperation in the EV sector. Opportunities in Ghana’s EV sectorIt lauded Ghana’s commitment to unlock climate financing to support a pipeline of climate activities in areas including EVs, shipping and hydrogen. The UKGBC also welcomed the successful auto sector investor mission, which took place from 22 to 26 January 2024. Timeline for Ghana’s EV policy:2024-2026: This phase will be the Preparatory Phase.
