Ghana: Stolen transformer replaced after prolonged power outage


The Electricity Company of Ghana (ECG) has replaced a 100kVA transformer that was stolen three weeks ago in Bunson, Abuakwa South Municipality of the Eastern Region. The theft had resulted in a prolonged power outage, leaving institutions and households in nearby areas without electricity for almost a week. Emmanuel Halm, the Eastern Regional Communications Officer for the ECG, advised: “Power supply was restored after the replacement of the transformer.
