She was presented with the €5,000 prize by sponsors Bill and Denise Whelan at the Belltable Theatre as part of the Limerick Literary Festival in honour of Kate O’Brien earlier this week. It has already won Irish Novel of the Year and been longlisted for the Book Prize. It was shortlisted for Irish Novel of the Year. Ahead of the main festival, The Crescent has announced Bookmarks: a new spring preview series of literary events. Each Literary Way criss-crosses the border, revealing a staggering concentration of literary giants.
