The Malaysian Medical Association (MMA) reminds those above 60 and those with comorbidities to get their booster shots. Many questions abound on whether one should still go for their booster shot and this is coming from those who are yet to get their first booster. Do be aware that vaccines do not prevent a person from getting infected but reduces the severity and risk of death if infected. In the meantime, those who are above the age of 60 as well as those with comorbidities are encouraged to get their second booster shots which are available at the medical clinics under the National Covid-19 Immunisation Program. To those who have yet to get their first booster, you are advised to get the shots as the immunity obtained from the first two doses would have waned.
