[Photo: Lewa Wildlife Conservancy]The Lewa Safari Marathon, a rebrand of the famous Safaricom Lewa Marathon, will be run virtually on Saturday, June 27. According to Mike Watson, CEO of Lewa Wildlife Conservancy, the campaign is in recognition that the extraordinary impacts the marathon has had on wildlife, communities and the tourism economy. Marathon world record holder Eliud Kipchoge toured the Lewa conservancy course in May and encouraged athletes to register and take part in the virtual race. Kipchoge said he would take part in the virtual race, which will be used to raise funds for wildlife conservation.
