THE Fourth Industrial Revolution (IR4.0) will not only be changing business models and employment trends but also the way we live, work and communicate. The revolution which emphasises automation and artificial intelligence will have a direct impact on manpower requirements. Are we ready for this revolution? However, based on the latest youth and graduate unemployment statistics, it seems that our education system has not changed much to improve students’ standard of English. Education Minister Dr Maszlee Malik should have frequent dialogue with employers to find out why they are not willing to employ local graduates.
